CashRegister Multiplayer Model Render

The cash register (Rapture).

Cash Registers, or Registers, are commonly found in Rapture and Columbia, but more frequently in markets and areas with many stores and retail outlets, such as Fort Frolic and Downtown Emporia. Most Cash Registers are lootable by the player, containing Dollars/Silver Eagles (or other items).

Since Rapture's societal collapse, most cash registers have been picked clean. The registers that do still have Dollars in them usually only contain a small sum of money which the player can then use to purchase items from the various vending machines throughout the city.

Cash registers also make an appearance in Columbia. More often than not, they contain a certain number of Silver Eagles. When Booker DeWitt first enters Soldier's Field, the cash registers will be highlighted in red. If Booker searches them, policemen and citizens will accuse him of theft and become hostile.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The cash registers do appear in BioShock 2 Multiplayer, but their only purpose is as decoration (and to be picked up by Telekinesis).
  • A green stylized "A" appears on the top of the cash register on the Rapture version, as a remnant of when ADAM was used as currency instead of the Rapture Dollar.
  • The Columbia version was reused for the Cash Registers in Rapture during Burial at Sea.
