Ion Cell

Ion Cells are the ammunition used by the Ion Laser in the Minerva's Den DLC for BioShock 2. There are three types of Ion Cell:

Laser Cell

Base ammo for the Ion Laser: Deal a small amount of (piercing) damage.

Help Caption

“	Laser Cells are the basic ammunition for the Ion Laser. These cells do a moderate amount of damage, with a continuous beam of cruel light.	”

Thermal Cell

Alternate ammo for the Ion Laser: Deal a small amount of (heat) damage and set the enemy on fire.

Help Caption

“	Heat Cells are are an alternate ammunition for the Ion Laser. These cells tend to light enemies on fire, and with extended use will ignite most of the environment.	”

Burst Cell

Alternate ammo for the Ion Laser: Will release an energy burst when charged up, dealing a high amount of (piercing) damage. Each burst costs up to 50 Burst Cell units.

Help Caption

“	Burst Cells are are an alternate ammunition for the Ion Laser. Once charged up and released, these cells release a dense wave of energy, knocking enemies head over heels.	”
