- For the publications in Rapture, see Publications in Rapture.
Columbia, the floating city in the sky, had a was amount of publications for its citizen, prior to the events of BioShock Infinite. Being a city-state based on the ideals of Zachary Hale Comstock and his Founders, following the American exceptionalism-belief and white-supremacy, most of the work distributed in the city did not stray away from supporting those ideals, but not all.
History[]
A newsboy.
Although Columbia ended their relation with the United States, contact to The Sodom Below was not broken. New arrivals to the city would most certainly bring with them various material from the land beneath. Newspapers throughout the city also managed to provide the citizen information on events happening in the rest of the world, such as the sinking of the RMS Titanic.
Although most publications were run by The Founder, some were distributed by the Vox Populi, although in a much smaller extent and in secret. The Founders used the characters Dimwit & Duke as a propaganda tool and released various books sold from the bookstore Founders Books.
The leader of the Founders, Father Comstock distributed a book on his believes named The Word of the Prophet and in contrast, the lead of the Vox Populi, Daisy Fitzroy released The People's Voice.
Ed Gaines, a writer, was tasked by Father Comstock to write his official biography.[1]
Elizabeth, being held in her tower, had a large library in her quarters and spent a lot of her time reading various books.
