Sanctuary was a Plasmid that existed in early versions of BioShock, but was ultimately cut from the final version of the game. In one of the podcasts, the developers revealed that it would have created a protective bubble around the player, absorbing all damage for a limited time. This was useful in early versions of the game, since hacking made the player vulnerable. When the game was changed to be paused while hacking, the developers felt this Plasmid no longer served a purpose.[1] Although BioShock 2 returned to the previous method of hacking, the ability closest to the idea this one portrayed is Natural Camouflage.
