Shorten Alarms

Shorten Alarms is a Gene Tonic in BioShock and BioShock 2 which reduces the length of hostile security alarms. Both versions of this tonic can be used together for an increased effect.

BioShock

Shorten Alarms “ What sound is more ominous than a yammering security alarm? With Shorten Alarms spliced, your personal EM signature becomes altered to interact uniquely with alarm sensors, shortening the period until you'll be free and clear. ” Effect: Reduces the length of hostile security alarms by twenty seconds. Location: Found in room #7 of the Fighting McDonagh's Tavern. Once the Audio Diary in that room finishes playing, a painting will fall, revealing the Tonic behind it. It can also be purchased at Gatherer's Gardens in levels from Arcadia to Hephaestus. Cost: 20 ADAM

Shorten Alarms 2 “ Are frequent Security Alarms driving you deaf? Reduce the pain with new, improved Shorten Alarms Two. ” Effect: Reduces the length of hostile security alarms by 30 seconds. Location: Found in the Core of Hephaestus after taking the elevator from Geothermal Control. Can also be purchased at Gatherer's Gardens in levels from Olympus Heights to Point Prometheus. Cost: 50 ADAM

BioShock 2

Shorten Alarms “ What sound is more ominous than a yammering security alarm? With Shorten Alarms spliced, you'll be in the clear in no time flat. ” Effect: Reduces the length of hostile security alarms by twenty seconds. Location: On top of a filing cabinet in The Hamilton of Town Square in Pauper's Drop. Can also be purchased at Gatherer's Gardens in levels from Siren Alley onward. Cost: 30 ADAM
