Death and the Blitz[]
Its says here that Pearl died on the 26th of August in 1940 by the Blitz, but the Blitz started on 7th September 1940 and ended on the 21 May 1941... How does this add up? (btw the Rapture Timeline should also be fixed after this is fixed!)
Pearl DOD[]
If I remember well, we can see at the end of Minerva's Den a mail of condolences from Churchill to Porter, dated January 1940, making her necessarily died in January 1940 according her tombstone.
Pearl as a "Major Character"[]
In the grand scheme of things, can we really consider Pearl as a major character? A major character shouldn't only show up in the story, they should have some significant level of importance to the plot and/or interaction with the protagonist.
Consider Yi Suchong, who much like Pearl is already dead by the time the story begins. But he plays a much, much larger background role than her and we do not consider him a major character in the first BS. What does Pearl's role really amount to? Her death fueling Charles Porter to accept Ryan's invitation to Rapture, that's it. She doesn't have any significance to the Sigma/Wahl/Thinker conflict that moves the plot of Minerva's Den. - Considering that The Thinker recreating her counts as a "living" appearance, I'd argue that her role is much more prominent. Furthermore, I'd argue that her function, essentially the reason behind all of Charles Milton Porter's actions (coming to Rapture, building the Thinker, living), is more significant than you appreciate. However, I won't press this issue.
- It seems like every 4 months we have someone come to the BioShock Characters article and change Yi Suchong's position from Minor to Major. In retrospect, this change will only cause problems by muddying the waters.
