Atlas and apostrophe "s" Edit

Regarding the recent changes to the Hestia and Apollo Square pages: In the game, the top floor of Hestia is spelled "Atlas' Headquarters." So, naturally I changed the Audio Diary listings to match. Admittedly, I'm not a grammar expert, but I would hope the developers would spell it correctly.

No problem, thanks for taking care of that.

Link not working Edit

Hi Willbachakal,

I am not sure who to consult about a small glitch in the Wiki.

There is a link that does not work.

The non-working link is on this page:-

>go to

>Rapture Storyline

>1960:An Unexpected Event in Rapture

>Welcome to Rapture

>Line 4

>Welcome Center (this link does not work?) (page does not exist)

It is not important really, I just thought someone might be interested?Aquawiki (talk) 16:00, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

IMPORTANT UPDATE I just found out that the Welcome Center link actually takes you to the 'Welcome to Rapture' page.

The Welcome Center link is not a normal type of link and is probably only used once (in a list).

>Explorable Areas

ps. - a little confusing but probably difficult to change the page layout.Aquawiki (talk) 20:23, September 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation, it clears things up. I dare say there are a few odd things in the wiki, if you look close enough. Aquawiki (talk) 02:28, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Apparently the AbuseFilter has gone back to blocking offenders for infinite durations instead of the 2 hour time limit we requested. Do you know anything about this?

I plan to send Wikia an email about it in the next few days. ~Gardimuer 15px-Physical_Tonic.png ʈalk } 10:23, September 23, 2012 (UTC)

I have noticed the toolbar being stuck at the bottom, and it seems to happen more often recently. I originally assumed it was just an issue with my AdBlock filters. I guess you should send Wikia a bug report about it. ~Gardimuer 15px-Physical_Tonic.png ʈalk } 02:52, September 24, 2012 (UTC)

Help: Error Message Problem. Edit

Hi, Willbachbakal.

I keep getting an error message about spam when I try to edit or publish certain things. I could not even leave a messge here with certain keywords in the message.

The *V*e*n*d*i*n*g* *M*a*c*h*i*n*e* page might be corrupt? Aquawiki (talk) 05:52, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

UPDATE: The problem with the error message seems to have resolved itsself or been resolved and I can edit/publish with the keywords included now. Aquawiki (talk) 16:22, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

That user of faux IG info is at it again Edit

User (talk) is more likely that returning User who claims to "know" Irrational Games artists, which they really add incorrect info from U.S. History as unsourced speculation about BioShock Infinite. Its a different IP, but if you remember, they were here months ago as, and once claimed they were an "intern". All of them have the same repetitive pattern of unsourced info claimed its from the game, but no links or other sources known by everyone are ever mentioned. Seriously, me and the other BioShock Wikia Admins are really getting tired of this user, especially how its always me that always finds that its the same user, based on their same bad info every time. Hopefully, when the game is released, we won't need to hear anymore of their "facts" again (or will we >p). Evans0305 (talk) 07:05, November 8, 2012 (UTC)

Well, looks like he just made himself apparant as the "intern". Other than jumping ahead to write on the Sky-Hook Page, he added names for the Easter characters on Infinite's Character page. Also, just take a look at this "informative" post he made on Bioshock123's Blog, What is this?:

I was an intern when the game was made. sometimes the artists would have their attention wander and they would start drawing random things. This is one of them, but Nate took it as inspiration for a swimming splicer in Bioshock 2 (which was never put in the game, because Ken thought it looked too silly).

You read that right: he just told people that Colin Fix's concept art is from Nate Wells (which Colin's signature is even visible on the bottom right), and that Wells and Levine made BioShock 2 at Irrational Games! So yeah, its time to block him! Also, try to delete his entry in the Blog, since the last thing we need is a "intern" speculating info. If not, I'll just note it under his reply, correcting his info.Evans0305 (talk) 02:09, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

Well, if you say so, but I think its more likely he'll continue lying about "working" with Ken Levine and Nate Wells, or who he formally reffers to as " Ken and Nate".Evans0305 (talk) 21:18, November 9, 2012 (UTC)

Well, despite what you informed them about their edits, they just added more on the Songbird page that seems to be a bit more speculative than it should be, especially when stating that it was "insider information" (not to emntion grammar issues). I did just informed them about how we're aware that they're not an intern, and they need to provide a linked source instead of their "info". Still, the fact that they're still continuing this charade and not replying about reconsidering their edits, makes me think they're going to continue doing this, no matter what. At this point, its best to block them than allow them to continue speculating, especially when they think claiming to be an "intern" gives them that excuse to add their own info into the wikia. Steve Gaynor on Idlethumbs today Edit

Steve Gaynor just appeared on Idlethumbs, playing and talking about Minerva's Den:

Besides roughly starting at 13:44 from a delay, its a good 2 1/2 hours of gameplay and commentary. I was wondering if you or the other admins can help me out with expanding the Minerva's Den pages with the show's info, since Gaynor does talk a lot about the game, that its roughly hard to keep backtracking the video for some small detail. Thanks. Evans0305 (talk) 04:54, November 11, 2012 (UTC)

Picture Edit

There's been some debate over the Sullivan page and whether or not the picture is of his body. The debate is outlined in the newest section of the talk page and I'd appreciate it if you, being an Admin, would share your thoughts on the issue. Thanks.

French title on the cinemaEdit

I found an information that title of the movie was in french because Tear opened in Paris. That would explain whole "Paris thing" and why Booker wants to take Elizabeth right there. That info was in one of the 'We Already Played Bioshock Infinite", so I don't think that it can be wrong. Also, some things changed since that 15 mins demo was shown, so I think that they could also change the title and place. Ison (talk) 14:08, December 31, 2012 (UTC)

Playstation All Stars Battle Royale article on the Wiki Edit

Just recently saw that Playstation All Stars Battle Royale was added on this Wikia. I know it was done by a User that wanted to add as an extra, but even though we already mention the game in BioShock in Other Media page, I notice that there's a lot of info about it in that game that could be more than enough to warrant an article here (such as its storyline for the Bouncer & Little Sister, a moves list, and selected Andrew Ryan dialog). So I was wondering if this is acceptable to make as a new page (that is, if there are other users who own the game on PS3 to help edit this), or that we somehow just need to sum up this into the Other Media article, or just direct this into the wiki for PlayStation All Stars?Evans0305 (talk) 06:25, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Great. I'll start transfering most of PSASBR's BioShock-related info from its Wiki to the article, just to make it more easier than starting from scratch (not to mention, I don't own a PS3, and I don't know anyone on the forums that does). I'll take a while, but I'm certain I can try getting it arranged for the page, at least to make it look as good.Evans0305 (talk) 20:01, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

New User on thie wiki Edit

Just to let you know, there's a new user, JAlbor, who recently offered to help the Wiki. However, although he wanted to reformat the BioShock Infinite article page, he uploaded it with a clutter of images (as you can see here after it was left as is), most of which were duplicates of screenshots he uploaded that we already have, along with merchandise and concept art that is already in their appropriate article pages. I did explain about the clutter, and he wrote on his own talk page that even though he apologized because of having to do something in between editing, he wanted to try this again (which personally, I really don't want to see that random clutter like that), but he did suggest a new format for the article page, such as a seperate clickable page for galleries, screenshots, concept art, and merchandise,as well as a navigation direction link for them. Most of it seems as explanatory, and I've seen it done on the Batman Wikia, but at the same time, I don't know if its as necessary yet to do that for this wikia, especially when only a few pages have a lot of images, and most of the navigation is listed above the site's tab. Plus, I think he did this on the page because he thinks it was the main Wikia page (more likely clicked on it via a sponsored link advertising the wikia that directly goes to the BiShock Infinite article, hence the giant related clutter). May be you have a better insight on this, or may be Garnimuer does. Either way, talk with this user about it. Evans0305 (talk) 22:55, January 15, 2013 (UTC)

File Deletion/Change? Edit

I was editing Fink Manufacturing page and noticed a file named "mqdefault.jpg." This means medium quality YouTube thumbnail. At first, I thought to just find the maxres version. However, after looking it up, the image is standard for YouTube videos reuploading the Beast of America trailer for no other reason but views. Would it be in good faith take a screen capture from the real video? In any case, the file needs to be renamed. It is a standard filename which will probably be problematic in the future. In fact... I do hope we get to renaming some files in a similar situation sometime. --~ɠą§ɔîéɳčę { talk } 17:38, January 26, 2013 (UTC)

It is somewhat different. Of course the controls are different. But the gameplay style is somewhat or mostly the same for me. I guess it is what ever you get first is what you are use to using. I prefer console, but I would play on PC. They are mostly similar.

mattzilla12 17:22, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

hello, i tried to move the tactics part of Lady Comstock's page to the Siren page but was not allowed to. i wanted to do this because lady comstock as a boss clearly already has a page, so tips related to fighting her should be under the siren page, NOT lady comstock's page. is it possible you can change this?

Atlas redirected to Fontaine Edit

I rollbacked the redirecting of Atlas' page to Fontaine's done by ResonX (only had the possibility to use rollback to unedit this). You should check out his arguments on Atlas' talk page. Pauolo (talk) 17:22, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

Categories Edit

Thank you for removing all of the stupid/superflous categories people added to the character pages.

Unownshipper (talk) 08:32, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

That won't work, because Paddywoo98 is adding them over and over, and creating new ones such as "Villains" (which sounds a bit dumb to call enemies villain, the BioShock series is not a comics story). Either someone explains to him why he should stop creating new categories, either we block him from editing on this wikia. Still it seems pretty obvious he never consult the wiki's activity page and that really annoys me.
Pauolo (talk) 12:33, April 13, 2013 (UTC)
Oops! My mistake, I wanted to post a link to the category page, didn't know I could add categories like that. Still if you prefer to be called a villain, that's up to you. ^^

Weapons/Gears icons Edit

On a different note now, MegaScience uploaded the weapon and gears icons on the wikia, and reuploaded the vigor ones from in-game versions. I can take care of the weapon ones, but I'll wait until I get the guide next week to put those of the gears in their respective pages (and because there's an awful lot).

"Category: BioShock Infinite Weapon Icons"

"Category: BioShock Infinite Vigor Icons"

"Category: BioShock Infinite Gear Icons"

Ok, just tried with the Broadsider icon, and it's damn too big. Gonna need to resize them on the pages.

Vox Anti-SemitismEdit

According to your own wikia policy, which you directed me to yesterday, I would like to point out the following line: "All content needs to be accurate and verifiable. In particular, adding speculation and fan fiction to articles is forbidden." Your continued attempts to add this is a fragrant infringement of said policy and as such, you are in violation of the policy. Please refrain from returning the information to the article (unless you can find a verifiable source, not "inference") or attempting to shift the onus of prolonging the argument on to myself, or the anon, otherwise I will have to involve other user of equal SysOps position as yourself to ensure a amicable conclusion to this disagreement. --{{SUBST:Signature|Jasca Ducato}} 08:44, April 18, 2013 (UTC)

Re: WYKBaA Edit

Well, didn't really see that coming. Though, as I much as I feel honored you have thought of me, I must decline for the same reasons I never asked to be admin. First I have little to no patience, so I'm not really qualified to manage edit wars. Then even if I usually consult the wikia's activity page, I don't really have that much free time to edit/unedit most of what I see. And most of all, I'd prefer to just stay simple editor, I really can't afford more responsibilities than what I already have. Still, thanks for the proposition. :)

Image Deletion RequestEdit

I must admit that I skimmed over the rules of the wiki and missed a few things when I joined. I recently uploaded scans from the Bioshock Infinite art book, which as far as I (now) know, is against the rules. Could you remove the images I uploaded? I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and will make sure to check the rules before uploading anything again. Lilipea (talk) 07:03, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

Pigskin in Olympus Edit

Hey, I was surprised by your correction that Pigskin appears in Olympus Heights since I've never noticed them there and I was scouring the levels to find just the right images of them for the Appearance sections I made for the splicer model pages. Now you've been at this longer than I have (and I don't want to sound curt), but I was wondering where exactly you saw them there? Thanks.

Quick Request Edit

You may want to ban User:Cancerfist for vandalism, and delete the pictures of his boyfriend he's been uploading. I'd also consider protecting the Elizabeth and Booker DeWitt pages, but that one is up to you. 22:39, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I was just wondering, what would it take for me to possibly be an admin on the Bioshock wiki?

mattzilla12 17:14, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Re Re: AdminEdit

Oh okay, thank you for the tip. I had thought about it for some time now and I am on mostly all the time except week ends. So I'll try my best, and thank you. And it's funny you say that about finding mistakes and correcting them, because I found one not to long ago on the page for Bioshock PS3 Trophies. But I am going to work hard, thanks.

Admin AgainEdit

I have one more question. How exactly do I fill out the Adminship to the wiki? I looked but I'm not sure how to without editing the page, unless that's what I have to do.

Okay, thank you. mattzilla12 16:27, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Edit to "Lutece Labs" potentially harmful??? Edit

Hello, I'm simply contacting an admin in regards to a rather drastic edit to a very stubby article "Lutece Labs". I am not able to publish it because the filter tagged it as potentially harmful and threatened to ban me. What can be done about this?

ShoutingNord (talk) 05:41, May 23, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Re: Edit to "Lutece Labs" potentially harmful?? Edit

So I've managed to actually get it to go through without trouble. I believe the reason why it stopped it was because I included the word "b-a-s-t-a-r-d" in there. It was a reference to Lady Comstock calling Elizabeth her "b-a-s-t-a-r-d child." So it's all good now haha.

ShoutingNord (talk) 05:54, May 25, 2013 (UTC)

The Comstock House Issue Edit

Hey, I hate to drag you into this, but I think this'll only be resolved by an Admin. There's been some debate over when the majority of the events at Comstock House take place, the arguments are covered Talk:Comstock House. The recent changes made to the page since May 26 seem to go against what the narrative suggests, specifically the "inconsistencies" section. Could you look in on this? Thanks.

Vandalized map for Olympus Heights Edit

Hey, check out the Plasmids and Tonics "map" for Olympus Heights.  Someone has vandalized it...

I thought I should tell an admin, since I haven't had a lot of practice with how the Wikia works, so I am not sure how to fix it myself (and in fact might even delete something by accident).

Further info: It happened less than half an hour ago, in fact... by user "fgtsgagadsfgadfgadfg".  I'm going to see if I can revert it back to normal so you don't have to.  And block him to keep him from doing it again; he's "following" the page, so he'll be notified that it's been reverted. 08:59, June 16, 2013 (UTC)

Charly Cohen's BioShock 4 Blog Edit

Hi. Its been a while, but just noticed former user Charley Cohen's "BioShock 4" fanfict is getting popular, mainley because of the missleading title. Much like looking for info on Irrational's story-based DLC, I think users are also looking up for a possible 4th BioShock game, or in this case "BioShock 4". I was wondering if because the title just keeps creating speculation that its a "official" 4th BioShock, can you possibly retitle the Blog? Probably like "BioShock 4 (fan fiction)"? Evans0305 (talk) 12:32, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Well, considering that Charly hasn't been on the Wiki for quite a while, I don't know if he'll recieve the message or respond at all. Anyways, you're right that its not as much of a big issue (since there is another blog called "Bioshock 4"), as much as its one of the only results that comes up when typing up a search for a 4th BioShock game. I just thought it could work as a reminder to visiting users, especially when so much user traffic had just built up on that Blog. Evans0305 (talk) 22:04, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Willbachbakal, I mentioned this to Gardimuer but they have not been on the wiki for a month, I created 4 templates last month for replacement warning templates. I am not taking responsibility in creating the boxes themselves, I just changed the pictures and info on them. Anyhow, let me know what you think of them. Also, could you adjust the wording on the third warning template, thanks. BillStef (talk) 23:54, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, I didn't really have much of an idea of what to say for the second and third template. Take care. BillStef (talk) 01:35, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm really new to this wiki editing business, so I apologize for the RTE errors that I had in making that "Themes" section; I don't know how to remove them. I know my write-ups really crude and like any good theme, it takes a lot of good thinking and just the right diction to describe it, so I was wondering, if I can write up a better report, could we post it in that page? I think it is really important to highlight the themes in this game and in the original Bioshock. I could send you the text as well if that would help with removing the RTE errors.

artbook images uploaded? Edit

User Jasminejolene has uploaded many images from the official bioshock infinite art book. I was wondering if this was legal or not? Consering you have to pay money to get some of the images that were uploaded by that user. Sorry for any misunderstandings EkriikE (talk) 09:09, July 18, 2013 (UTC)

The Siren/Lady Comstock merging Edit

Hello Will, sorry I haven't been participating much in the past months, I must admit I kinda lost interest in the series lately, well until the announcement of the 3 promised DLC.

Anyway, I understand that the Lady Comstock and Siren pages have been merged together, since they are considered to be one and the same. However, as advertised in the trailer for the Clash in the Clouds DLC some of its challenges will feature the Siren as a wave enemy, which brings me to recommend to un-merge those two pages. Since this new DLC suggest that the Siren is an enemy and not just a story-driven boss, I believe it would be best to treat those two characters separately.

Also, same trailer officially named those Crow fiends as Zealots of the Lady... That will be all for now. ^^

Pauolo (talk) 13:53, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Yep. As predicted, the DLC specifies Sirens separately from Lady Comstock, as well as naming Zealots specifically. Crow is an informal battlefield title worth mention but not official. --~ɠą§ɔîéɳčę { talk } 15:32, July 30, 2013 (UTC)
Good to hear Siren getting back to seperate pages. Not too crazy for the Zealots as Official names though (still think Crow is meant as enemy type, and Zealots as name for character, much like in the way Brutes and Crawlers.) Evans0305 (talk) 16:25, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Two days ago when the next 3 DLC were revealed, I've reorganized the main page of BioShock Infinite which was a bit chaotic. I was wondering, if you see no problem with this new setup of mine, would like me to do the same thing for the main pages of BioShock and BioShock 2?

New UserEdit

Hi. I'm that user who edited the Lansdowne Residence page. I have a regular wikipedia account, and was quite confused to learn that wikia accounts are entirely different. Anyway, that was the only edit I wanted to make. I've taken Latin classes for six years, with one of those at the college level. So it's irked me quite a bit that this false information about the phrase "audemus patria nostra defendere" being incorrect is going around. I have no idea if the message you left was automated or not, but thanks for the welcome anyway ^_^ 06:28, August 2, 2013 (UTC)

I need your help. Edit

Cronkus continues to add useless and redundant information on Booker's page. But now he is attacking me and calling me a racist:

"If it takes me 10 years to continue to edit that I will you discusting, racist, freak. And it's ironic that you changed bookers picture to a non offical one. I'll never let it go. So might as well have a mod ban me. Crunkus (talk) 16:25, August 31, 2013 (UTC)"

Can you please do something about him. I'm not racist but the information he is adding isn't needed as it's already there in the page.

Booker Photo Dispute Edit

Cronkus keeps on changing my picture instead of replacing it in the page. Can we please keep this picture in the page.

hey there Edit

I decided to let gears let the history biography be whatever he wanted. You can look at our conversation. So I'm ok with that being what is was before I edited it. (I never said that booker was native american though, just that he was charged of it his whole life, and that he could speak sioux.. I added nothing more.) I just asked to keep bookers profile image set on the one where he's posing in the museum. Unown said to keep it on this and I agreed. I would rather use that page because of the background detail and everything. The Lutece twins have images from this museum also. I would like to keep that one. I said to gears that we would keep the history the way he wants (meansing any of the stuff I added, could be taken out) as long as he used the old museum photo of booker (which he originally uploaded.) Crunkus (talk) 18:40, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

Can you get back with me on this? thanks Crunkus (talk) 19:45, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
I'll stay out of gears path and will not edit bookers page. But I don't see the problem with him getting the biography history how he wanted and me keeping the booker musem picture up. The admin obove (on my ralk page) said he really would like for that picture to stay up in a similar debate and I now really like that picture too. I don't see this as unreasonable. Thanks Crunkus (talk) 21:51, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

image replacement for user Blog. Edit

The image that BlizzardOfOz123 made for his Project Dedaelus Blog may need to be replaced with a copy of his original, only under a different name ( may be "Project Dedaelus"), since the original called "Untitled" is unsalvageable for revising. Please upload a replacement to his Blog.Evans0305 (talk) 05:31, September 4, 2013 (UTC)

Booker's history Edit

Here is something I would like to have your opinion on in regards to Booker Dewitt's history. Thanks. He said the whole native american thing had followed him his whole life, in the voxophone. I didn't write that he WAS a native american. "Your family tree shelters a teepee or two, doesn't it, son?' This lie, this calumny, had followed me all my life" This makes it sounds as if he has been charged his whole life with being accused of being native american. . As I feel that it's important to deal with this. It's and imporant part of who booker is in . Would it be ok in your view to add something at the beginning that his whole life Booker Dewitt was charged of being native american his whole life? I asked Paulo and he said no. I would just like your take as well. If you say no, then the issue is settled. But I personally feel it is a big part of who booker is if he was accused of this his entire life and that it should be stated in his history. Thanks again Rez83 (talk) 22:56, September 12, 2013 (UTC)

Help with an experiment? Edit

I wanted to ask you if this community would be interested in helping us improve search suggestions by participating in a little experiment? As part of our constant effort to improve this facet of our search functionality, we want to try out some alternate methods. If you agree, we will try out these changes here and measure the results.

The testing period will last between two to four weeks.

During that period you will see the following improvements: much faster search suggestions and a different look for the way they appear.

The possible drawbacks are: search suggest will only provide namespace suggestions (no images or categories), and any new articles created during the test will not automatically appear in search suggest (although we can manually add them if that will help). --semanticdrifter @fandom (help forum | blog) 15:00, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

Just a heads up that this experiment will be going live this week and is scheduled to run through the end of the year. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. --semanticdrifter @fandom (help forum | blog) 19:23, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hello! Edit

Hi there, I'm TwoBears, I'm an admin over at the Fallout wiki. I'm a huge fan of the Bioshock series, and I'd like to get to helping on this wiki. You seem to be the most active admin at this moment, are there any certain projects/goals you guys have at the moment? I'd love to help. Just drop me a response at anytime :) - TwoBearsHigh-Fiving / Talk

Adding a Parenting Filter PageEdit

Hello Willbachbakal,

I'm reaching out to you and some of the other admins on Wikia about a new page we'll be adding to some of our larger Wikis. It's called the Parenting Filter page, and it's designed as a hub page for parents looking to determine if a game, movie, TV series etc. is appropriate for their child.

Here's an example of what the page will look like:

It's a lot more in-depth than the ESRB/PEGI ratings system and will give parents a more useful look at the game and its community. While the main focus of the project is to serve as a tool for parents trying to gauge whether or not something is appropriate for their child, it also contains a lot of unique information that would be useful to pretty much everyone. Stats like average campaign length and community attitude are the kind of things only actual players like you will be able to provide.

We'd love for you or any of the other Bioshock Wiki editors to pitch in on the page if you get a chance, as we're trying to get these live by December. I'll check back next week and create/update the page myself if you guys aren't interested in it. As always, please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about this.

Thanks for your time!

Hay in regards to that photo of young Elizabetth, I just screenshot it then cut it to size using photoshop as I do for eveything I have uploaded. :)

technically i didn't have the authority to, but the addition i just did makes what was there before worthless. so on the extra little sister page, arcadia subsection, there are now 2 explanations on how to make here appear... however, mine is easier and faster so the second one can be removed. 20:45, November 20, 2013 (UTC)notactuallyamemberhere, justplayingagame

Hey man, just wanted to ask how to add walkthroughs? I wrote the walkthrough for Bioshock: Challenge Rooms DLC, 'The 'I' in Team' but it won't let me add it. It says it may be potentially harmful, but it's literally just a walkthrough. It took me quite a while too, so I'd be pretty upset if I had to just delete it! I'm not sure how active the Moderators are on this Wiki, so I'm leaving a message on your talk page and the Talk page of Gardimuer. I'd appreciate it if you could get back to me! 18:52, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, wait! Nevermind, I fixed it. Turns out that greenpuzzle piece thing needs to be there. My bad, I didn't know what it was so I just deleted it. Thanks anyway! 18:57, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

The Death of Comstock/Booker Dewitt Edit

Howdy Willbachbakal,

I just joined the wiki community, and recently edited a post on the Elizabeth and booker Dewitt pages. I was under the impression Booker is drown during the baptism, as only Comstock chooses this action, and hence all versions of Booker which would become Comstock are eliminated, while saving all versions of Dewitt that would go on to father Elizabeth/Anna. I'm highly intersted in the multi-verse theory, and it was bugging me that both pages claimed Booker drowns before the baptism. This would permanently end the game, as Booker would no longer exist in any/all realities. I have added this alternate theory on both pages. However since i am still a new editor, I would very much apreciate it if you reviewed these edits to ensure continuity with the rest of the wiki as well as with the views of the community. thanks!

booker picture Edit

was wondering if you could delete this picture link from the bioshock wikia database. It's not being used. Thanks KellyMorris (talk) 19:32, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

I was thinking it was on this wikia. I didn't know it was on the polish version. I just wanted it deleted from the wikia since it wasn't being used. Would it be possible to still remove it if it isn't being used? that image/link that is? Happy 2014 to you as well! KellyMorris (talk) 18:50, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
So I take it you cannot? KellyMorris (talk) 20:49, January 5, 2014 (UTC)

Establishing a Media Policy/Guidelines for BioshockEdit

Hi Master Sima Yi,

My name is Luis and I am a Community Support Manager (ES) and Video Community Lead at Wikia. I had a few questions regarding the Bioshock Wiki and was told you were the person to speak to.

As you know Wikia is currently working with communities to create Video Policies/Guidelines to their specific Wikias. As you may already know Wikia currently has been establishing an expansive library of fully licensed Wikia videos covering various forms of entertainment.

Video Swap (LVS) is our newest tool which allows admins to quickly swap videos from outside providers to the same (or very similar) video that exists in our library at Wikia Video. All our videos are fully licensed with no expiration date.

We are always looking to improve on what we can provide to our users and if it was ok with you, we would like to know what we can do to better your experience.

Lastly we want to encourage communities to create a Video Policy/Guidelines that cater to the needs of your Wikia community regarding the uploading of any media for users to reference when visiting your site if you haven't done so already. If so, do you think you could link me to it? I would greatly appreciate it! We will we doing a feature on Wikias with Video Policy/Guidelines in the near future in order for those Wikias that need references to get some help in establishing their own.

Here are a few examples:

Gearslover01 h added picture on booker dewitt page Edit

Gearslover has already added a couple pictures of booker dewitt on the main page and has done quite a bit of editing on that page. I like the picture of bookers belongings when he opens the case better that was added by Jspyster1 here awhile back. We alraedy have numerous close up of bookers face on the booker dewitt page and think it was better before the revert by gears

plus I think we should keep the previous text. I think gears should keep his past contrubutions to the page but we need to have a little diversity of posters posting pictures of booker and adding to his biography page. Thanks Evandalton089 (talk) 21:58, February 23, 2014 (UTC)

comstock origins Edit

I felt on Comstocks origins it should of been left with just this text:

To the people of Columbia, little was known about Comstock prior to a baptism he spoke of, and had rarely spoken of anything before that event. One thing he claimed was that he was a member of the 7th Cavalry and a participant in the Wounded Knee Massacre. After the baptism, Comstock became a deeply religious man, and he used his newfound faith to reshape his identity. He soon became an influential man with the United States government.

I think the new text that says he's booker dewitt it too revealing right at the beginning of his bio is too revealing. If players may be looking for a bit of info on the game or come here during there playthrough it can reveal the big twist right at the start of looking at comstocks bio and thus possibly ruin the game. WHat is your opinion? Thanks TylerRogers (talk) 01:36, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I just kinda like the origins bio comstock had before. I don't think it should be revealed he's booker at the very start of his bio. 99.9 percent of the time I think the bio should be stated as is. I think there should be one exception in this case as it could ruin the story of the game. The twist at the end is such a huge thing and I think it will spoil the game for many players and impact the story for them. TylerRogers (talk) 02:26, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, comstock being booker was mentioned right under the spoiler tag.... I just kinda disagree with the new text was added as I do think many people will maybe glance and see that and have and impact on how they enjoy the story (aka ruined for them)

I think the origins text should go back to this:

To the people of Columbia, little was known about Comstock prior to a baptism he spoke of, and had rarely spoken of anything before that event. One thing he claimed was that he was a member of the 7th Cavalry and a participant in the Wounded Knee Massacre. After the baptism, Comstock became a deeply religious man, and he used his newfound faith to reshape his identity. He soon became an influential man with the United States government."

That said I want your opinion on this. Do you think the new text above that should be kept? Comstock being booker is mentioned under the spolier tag. I just kinda disagree with it being right at the start of comstocks bio. TylerRogers (talk) 02:33, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

I'll leave as is. I still think there should be and exception in this case. It's going to ruin the games story for a lot of people that come around and just casually lurk and want info on the game. The pervious text in my view said just enough for people to know his history without the mentioning of him being "booker dewitt." TylerRogers (talk) 21:31, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

This is another reason I'm opposed to putting booker was zachary comstock in the comstock biography. when i do a google search for "booker dewitt" it comes up with zachary comstock was born booker dewitt. Here is an image of this here TylerRogers (talk) 11:59, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

I wish to report a vandal. A vandal by the name of JIGSAW 4. Whomever they are, they are vandalizing this wiki. Whatever you decide to do, it's your call. --ZanyDragon (talk) 20:24, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you so much. Although, I personally would've banned him altogether. --ZanyDragon (talk) 22:44, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

I made a new template for the Radio Messages for the Minerva's Den (DLC). Should it be merged with anything? And why is it that the wiki seems to treat template pages like article pages when you first create them? --ZanyDragon (talk) 23:22, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

remove booker image Edit

Can you PLEASE get rid of this image on the database? I've tried but can't

jack image Edit

Why are people allowed to put hacked material in the gallery? People are posting hacked images via editor of Jack in the gallery. Many games have unused content in their game data. I don't think using a editor to find these images makes the images automatically legit. That image of jack that people are posting in my view was never in game nor was it ever officially released by irrational games. In my view those image shots should not be used. They were never used in game nor ever officially released by irrational games. SethEwing (talk) 10:45, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

Oh for the last time! We see that model in BaS! hes the one we see on in the end, that the same model! we didn't see hes face because it was in a shadow or from behind! the pictures we put on this wikia is of that model, without the shadowing! Think about it, why would they make two models for him when they have a perfectly fine one and with such a tight schedule? --Shacob (talk) 11:59, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

We extract the game files to find more data which we can't earn from normal gameplay. And we can get lots of, LOTS OF used game data by extraction. If you unilaterally consider every single 'hacked' file via editor, then you should erase approximately 50% of this wikia( Ex : Julie Langford's tve screen, Please Standby image, character models of Bioshock 1,2, Infinite, Burial at Sea, Every image of advertising posters and propaganda posters ). And as i was saying, that Jack image is directly extracted from game files via editor. It is only Jack model we can get. Of course, it's used in Burial at Sea Episode 2 Epilogue. In the gameplay, this model was just painted over by shadow. Will you be satisfy if we add that image with shadow?!

P.S. I think you just don't accept the truth, because It's not Jack model you expected. If you keep whining like child and ask for the impossible, you will be no better than vandals.

Pawn of Atlas (talk) 12:07, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

No, I don't accept it because it wasn't as we seen in-game. I don't think unused material should be used on this wikia. As I said many games have unused metaerial in their data. Game Development changes a lot during the development of the game. I think it's a tragedy if much of wikia is full of imagery that was never used in=game and was put up via editors that went into game files putting up files that were never in the final product. I strongly disagree with that.

Did you ever understand our conversation? We use extracted data which is used in real game!!! Just throw away that stupid "Extracted data = hacked data = unused data" mind.

Pawn of Atlas (talk) 12:35, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

I don't think images should be modified either SethEwing (talk) 14:07, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

What do you mean?! Modified?! So, do you want just 100% screenshots?!

Pawn of Atlas (talk) 14:46, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

I never saw so much bullshit since I first started editing here 4 years ago. .__. Pauolo (talk) 20:46, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

I'm going to be putting this here since this entire argument has taken place on my talk page. There is nothing wrong with using third-party software, directly accessing the game files or using any other kind of tool to get a better image or screenshot. The only thing you're not supposed to have on a screenshot is a watermark, and the screenshots you post must be good-quality and relevant to the article it's inserted in. If you pass these criteria, you're good to go. --Willbachbakal (talk) 01:46, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

I don't apprecaite paulo using cuss words at someone for discussing a subject matter. If it ever happens again I'll call up the owner of this website to look into this. People can agree/disagree on this but there's no need to demean someone. I really don't like how paulo has handled this situation at all. If it happens again I will call up the owner of this website to complain against him. There's no need to get verbal and cuss at people to discuss subject matters. SethEwing (talk) 17:01, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

If you were asking for apologies I would have willingly given you one, as I admit my reaction was inapprorpiate. However threatening me (four days later) and most importantly the wiki for my behavior in response to the opposing opinion of three editors, including an administrator, is simply petty. If you don't accept that your opinion can be wrong when several other users tell you so, I would suggest you to stop editing on any gaming wiki. I've seen far worse behavior from users (including administrators and moderators) on other wiki who would have not even given you the luxury to answer to your opinion before reverting your edits. Yet, you kept removing those pictures (four times) without asking first the reason on the associated talk page, even after you were told the reason several times. So yes my reaction was misplaced, but you had the most intolerant behavior of us two. Pauolo (talk) 17:59, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
Responding on SethEwing's talk page, as this is beginning to get very personal. --Willbachbakal (talk) 19:28, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

The Rapture Storyline Edit

Hi, I don't know if you played BioShock Infinite and its two narrative DLC yet so I'll keep myself from spoiling you as much as I can.

Currently the wiki is facing a dilemma since the release of the last piece of Infinite's narrative DLC, Burial at Sea, taking place once again in Rapture. The problem is, this story hints that it is taking place in the same Rapture as the one depicted in the first two games, so we would be inclined to add its new story contents to the Rapture storyline/timeline pages. However, it also depicts Suchong's death as occurring after the 1958 New Year's Eve, as it was originally hinted in both the first BioShock and the novel, but contradicted by BioShock 2 which places it before the event.

Since Suchong's death is possibly the only contradicting element which keeps us from updating the storyline and timeline pages, me and several of the active editors would like to consider the date after the bombing to be the canon one. That would mean considering the few mentions of his death occurring before the bombing as non canon, but that won't break the cohesion in BioShock 2's storyline. And so, I would like to hear your opinion and approval on this issue before going with it.

Pauolo (talk) 15:51, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

So, I guess you didn't play the second episode? I would have preferred not to mention it, but its end is in direct relation to the events of the original game, which means Jack's story. Tbh I wasn't asking for Ken Levine to tie Burial at Sea with the original game, but he did it anyway. /:
Considering that, would you still go as to say Burial at Sea is set in a parallel reality? Also they are hints to suggest drinkable Plasmids (i.e. Vigors) were just a fad from right after the nationalization of Fontaine Futuristics, as they required 10 times the amount of ADAM needed to produce injectable ones. Ryan being a cheap "son of a bitch," that probably didn't take him long to do the maths, also because Fontaine itself was raging at Suchong on the same subject (don't trust the date, it seemed to have been mistaken with the one of Frank's other diary in BaS 2). As for Tears, well they seemed to be localized and Ryan made his best to hide their existence to the public. And since they probably stopped right after the fall of Columbia (since Fink could not open them any more), their existence was probably forgotten, or considered as visions seen by insane people. Pauolo (talk) 17:57, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
I think Ken Levine have stated that this is the same Rapture, on Twitter.
Shacob (talk) 18:40, April 5, 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps it is like the grandfather paradox in time travel (you use a time machine to go back in time to kill your grandfather so how can you be born to use the time machine etc. etc.) If someone from a parallel universe goes to Rapture they might alter the timeline or intefere with events. It is the same Rapture but has been altered by outside interference. There is no real answer when talking about paradox?

As a reply to your last post on my talk page, I believe Ken Levine won't answer the question, at least not now. I believe Shacob found the answer to that already.

For Suchong's death invalidating BioShock 2, I would like to point you to this post (#45) by someone on the forums at It has unfortunately a few necessary spoilers, however it does quote the novel, and even bring up something no one here realized when we decided that it was not canon, which was that it solved the canon issues BioShock 2 initiated. Also, I believe the only contradicting element in the novel was in fact Suchong's death not happening as it was told in BioShock 2. Anyway read that post and you'll see Suchong's death does not invalidate BioShock 2.

Pauolo (talk) 23:52, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

So that means we have a solution then, which is to consider canon Suchong's death after Delta's bonding and the New Year's Eve, and so to make all games set in Rapture canon to the same storyline. Honestly I'm relieved we finally decided on something for that issue, it has become a hot topic on the forums at Also, I will add sections to the proper pages to explain our choice here. Pauolo (talk) 08:28, April 6, 2014 (UTC)

booker's profile Edit

In one of comstocks voxophones (The true color of mky skin) he stated that he was charged of having native american heritage his entire life. I wanted to add "Booker Dewitt went his entire life being teased for having Native American heritage." I really don't see what's wrong with adding this. To me this lives up to what he said in the voxophone. And Ken Levine confirmed on twitter that Booker does indeed have native american heritage. May I add that line? MegaMan02 (talk) 19:06, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

"In front of all the men, the sergeant looked at me and said, “Your family tree shelters a teepee or two, doesn't it, son?” This lie, this calumny, had followed me all my life." That's from the voxophone. Isn't that basically saying he was teased his entire life because of it. And since Levine confirmed on twitter that Booker is indeed native american, what would make that not accurate? MegaMan02 (talk) 19:56, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Need some help Edit

One of the new users on this site, Brock87, is not only incorrectly uploading a photo (he's doing a new version rather than uploading a different one) but he is also insistent on using the former picture because he "looks more Native American," when the new picture I uploaded has a better angle on Booker's face. Sorry to bother you.

--Gearslover01 (talk) 22:24, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Not at all. I understand that there's basically 5-6 guys that can post whatever they want unquestionably. And I don't know why mentioning "native american" means I'm somehow promoting racism. Brocks87 (talk) 05:51, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

Then stop showing favoritism, which is exactly what it is regardless how you word it. I don't like being told just because he's a regular that I can't even begin to think about changing and image. If you look at most bioshock infinite character profiles and images it's the same 6-7 guys basically making all the images. I stated I didn't have a problem with this, but I liked the previous image of booker better. I was told by gears that I need to stop this. He goes around saying so and so are a noob and what he says is "correct" because he's been here for awhile. You try to change a sentence or two in the biographies and you get jumped. It's unfair and stupid Brocks87 (talk) 16:18, April 9, 2014 (UTC) 18:23, April 9, 2014 (UTC)Why don't you finally add Radar Range to the list of weapons that can be used in Burial At Sea Episode 2? Somebody correctly did this before but now it's gone again and nobody wants to fix it. I keep checking over and over if you fixed it but nooo.

Help with a User Edit

Sorry to bother you with this, but User:Chris5667 not only will not stop changing the picture of Booker DeWitt, he is incorrectly doing so by uploading a new version. I have reverted the picture many times and he keeps on changing it. I sent him a warning but he still does it. Can you please help me take care of him?

Thanks Edit

Thank you so much!

who runs this wikia? Edit

you're not allowing diversity of opinion and I want to know who runs this wikia? Chris5667 (talk) 18:01, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Why does gears get so much say? He has loaded profile main images on various profiles. He also has uploaded a couple images of booker in bookers profile. Since the previous image was up for over half a year, why cant it stay up? I liked that image and want that one to be used. Chris5667 (talk) 00:24, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

Why can't that last image be used? I'm not saying he can't contribute to this wikia anymore, but why every once in awhile can't there be other opinions instead of threats of changint the image? I really like the previous image of booker. Chris5667 (talk) 15:17, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

Why can't the image stay up? I wasn't even the one that recently added it. That's the only request I have. Is to use that one image of booker dewitt. Please keep it up Chris5667 (talk) 08:19, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

This is the last time I'll ask. I'm not sure how to blog on here and whatnot. I've never been to good at this wikia stuff. There's no way you can bend on just tha one image? I really liked the old booker image a lot and it was up for 7 months. I rell ylike that picture of booker a lot. I would graetly appreciate it if we could use that. After that I'll be off here forever. Chris5667 (talk) 23:19, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Abuse log?Edit

hi, I just found my abuse log and apparently I have abused this wikia, it says:

Actions taken: Tag; Filter description: RTE errors

and I have no idea what it means or what I have done, it would be great if someone could tell me so I can avoid these mistakes.

Now that I post this here the same message pops up:

Warning: An automated filter has detected some coding errors on this page that may have accidentally been added by the visual editor. Please check your edit in the source window and remove the errors before clicking "Publish" again.

is it the "rich text" thing?

Shacob (talk) 18:00, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Apparently I activated some of thus anti-abuse filters myself twice in Mars too. I'd be curious too to know what those RTE errors are all about. Pauolo (talk) 18:54, May 11, 2014 (UTC)
I see and I know pretty well the issues with RTE. Still I started editing in source mode shortly after joining the wiki, so it's kinda strange that the filters were activated last March. I went back to the page reported (strangely twice for a single edit) in the abuse log, and it seems what activated the filter was simply the edit of a word in a single line where RTE was already present. Anyway, it's nothing much worrying about. :) Pauolo (talk) 00:27, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Wikia's Video Swap ToolEdit

Hi there!

Though you might already know about, I thought I’d remind you about Wikia’s Video Swap tool, which allows you to very easily swap out YouTube videos embedded across your community for the Wikia equivalent. It only effects YouTube videos with a matching Wikia video. Swapping out your videos for matching officially licensed Wikia videos means that the videos on your community are less likely to be taken down and rendered unwatchable.

With your approval, I can go through and make these swaps for you — if you’d rather undertake this task yourself — or if you’re uninterested entirely — just let me know! I'll likely start making some of the swaps for you in a week, so be sure to let me know as soon as you can if you'd rather not make the switch."

Mhadick (talk) 00:02, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

email Edit

Can I email you? I'd really appreciate it if I could email you. Thanks Chris5667 (talk) 09:36, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

If you don't want to give out your email thats fine. Can you at least reply that you'd rather resolve matters on here? Thank you Chris5667 (talk) 02:33, May 22, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. I didn't know if you had a @wikia email address just to answer questions for this wikia since your the head of this wikia.. Not a personal email address. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. Chris5667 (talk) 02:58, May 22, 2014 (UTC)

Choosing Just the Right Words Edit

Hey, I'm asking all the regular and semi-regular contributors if they can help me come up with labels to finish up the BioShock 2 part of the Splicer models' appearance section. Would you kindly sheck out my blog and propose a line if you have any in mind: User blog:Unownshipper/Choosing Just the Right Words

Possible Trolling Edit

A user named Santosnice has been posting articles that appear to be spam and nonsensical advertisements for other websites. This isn't vandalism per se, but I still don't think this sort of behavior is appropriate on the Wiki. Could you look into it?

A Small Issue Edit

I'm have an issue with one of the wiki contributors and I was hoping you could intervene. User: (occasionally known as some other nameless Wiki Contributor with the numbers 75.36… at the beginning of the IP address or User:Testxyz when he bothers to sign in) has been engaged in a campaign to make Andrew Ryan and Augustus Sinclair look like poor, victimized pawns in a world stacked against them.

I wouldn't object to this normally as I believe he's entitled to his own opinion. However, I feel that some of the recent edits he's made have crossed a line. His edits on September 12th to The Sinclair Deluxe article border between overly biased revisionism and trolling. To summarize:

In the middle of the line "Though attractive enough to draw people in, the hotel was constructed with cheap materials," he writes "what did you expect parkay flooring and carrera marble?" as a refernece link. Later on, between "Even in Rapture's heyday, Sinclair himself called the hotel a "slum" and its rooms "ratholes."," he interjects with "But compare it to Hestia Chambers or Artemis Suites - looks pretty good by comparison - and as seen in BS2 it is 7+ years after Sofia Lamb became the landlord" again treating it like a reference.

He's also removed or altered several lines of text in that article he either doesn't like or finds biased against Sinclair (though it seems difficult to be objective with a character who's an inch away from a Snidely Whiplash cartoon). The same act has been done in the Sinclair Spirits article because he objects to evidence used from the diary Sinclair Deluxe & Sinclair Spirits. The whole debate is oultined on the Talk Page where he refuses to listen to opposing arguments from his peers.

Again, I'm not trying to stop him from voicing his opinion, as his criticisms against the wording on some of the pages have improved the objectivity of the Wiki. He often brings up some very good points about the game designers' personal agendas with the series. I agree with him that the BioShock series could be seen as being anti-corporation and anti-capitalist games, but he's using the articles and Talk Pages as his personal soap box.

I apologize for dragging you into this, but I've previously found that speking to him about the subject is only a temporary fix. I hope that he'll listen to an Admin if you talk to him as you have more authority than I do. Talk to him or do nothing, whatever you decide, I'll respect your decision. Thanks for your time.

Unownshipper (talk) 22:58, September 13, 2014 (UTC)

On the other hand the edits remove biased descriptions that are not seen actually in the game.   If you want to be consistent with what youve (Unownshipper)said before then  the text should NOT include such biases.   Sinclair built his hotel out of inferior materials (so its the reason its now falling down) ?  Where does it state that in the game ?   Its just a biased assumption.  Take a look at the rest of Rapture (even the BS1 state of other (??) 'well built' parts of Rapture - and Sinclair Deluxe viewed 7+ years after that ...)     The other changes are similar.

The Sinclair Deluxe Hotel was built after the Big Crash ??   When is that said to have happened (in-game) ?  Ive postulated at length that was long before Kashmir (was last left undesided) - you think Sinclair built the Sinclair Deluxe AFTER the civil war had begun ?? Thats some of the unsupported assumptions  removed from that article also.

Similarly the Sinclair Spirits issues -- a REMOVED diary  (again might be best to put that in trivia instead of a main section where it would be misinterpretted as Canon)  - anyway read the Diary  for what it says, not what you assume it says (as I last stated).

There is no Sinclair Spirits in Paupers Drop  (probably why they removed the diary -- because it didnt make sense anymore)

I can stop using 'references' to make commentary (I dont think Ive done that before anywhere)  and that was instead of removing the original interpretaion by the original writer for those 'points'.

"refuses to listen to opposing arguments"   and respond by refuting them - and the arguments still going on... (on the talk page) 08:16, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

I'm all for factual accuracy, but statements of opinion, speculation and commentary are not for the mainspace. So, for example, stating that the Sinclair Deluxe was in shabby condition would be accurate and worth adding, as it's mentioned in Audio Diaries and the like, but justifying why it's in such a shabby condition would fall under commentary. Looking at the Sinclair Spirits discussion, I'm siding with Unownshipper here: it's pretty clear Sinclair is talking about himself combining Sinclair Spirits with the Sinclair Deluxe to fleece the population, and it should be noted as such. --Willbachbakal (talk) 08:58, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

This is what the article says  "Though attractive enough to draw people in, the hotel was constructed with cheap materials."         cheap materials is an assumption/speculation isnt it ?   The ref notes was just an experiment to see how it worked,  but now shouldnt the verbage it was commenting/refuting instead be eliminated?

As for the Sinclair Spirits & Sinclair Deluxe  - as mentioned that audio diary was a never included in-game  yet its being quoted in 2 different articles as if it is canon in main sections.   There is no sign of a Sinclair Spirits at Paupers Drop/near Sinclair Deluxe - not even a sign - (which may be why they (devs) removed it from the game - limbo room sells booze/whatever) and one of my 'peers' instead say its justified because there might have been one in some blocked off section or another that  they could have gone to the actual (ritzy) one in Fort Frolic when the diary specifically says local gin joints being sinclairs 'good idea'.

The verbage in the sinclair deluxe page also reverted  says  "Sinclair admitted in an audio diary that once he got a citizen dependent on him, he liked to keep them that way, so he milked them for what they were worth. One of these methods was by offering the buildings tenants discounts at his liquor stores,

Is any of this factual or just supposition ?(isnt that reading intothe audio diary more than whats there?)   Sinclair talks about wanting to sell booze to some 'bankrupt fat cat' (a type he in other places makes derisive remarks about).   Dependant on him or sinclair thinking that being the one to sell to them  was a business opportunity ??   I dont recall seeing anywhere talk of him giving discounts on the booze sold to his renters.   Those things were much of what I had removed. 12:12, September 15, 2014 (UTC)

The wording for the quote "Sinclair admitted in an audio diary [...]" is strangely formulated and slightly inaccurate, but it is nonetheless true that Sinclair used Sinclair Spirits in conjunction with the Sinclair Deluxe to fleece the population. That Audio Diary is not in the game but is nonetheless canon, as are the Audio Diaries from the Cult of Rapture website that do not contradict in-game canon. The quality of the hotel's materials can be easily established in-game, and while focusing on the construction materials might be a bit too specific, the Sinclair Deluxe is clearly shabby.

If the argument of your peer was that there might have been a Sinclair Spirits out there, then that would be speculation. However, it is nonetheless correct that there is one in Pauper's Drop, again as evidenced in the Audio Diary. Seeing as you only travel through a small portion of the entire district, the fact that you didn't see one in-game doesn't contradict its existence. --Willbachbakal (talk) 09:59, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

"it is nonetheless correct that there is one in Pauper's Drop"

I disagree.  There is no evidence that there WAS a Sinclair Spirits there.   Neither does Sinclair declare  there was one.   'Fleece' is a synonym for 'cheat' which I also dont agree with as a description of what Sinclair might have been talking about wanting to do. (no evidence of 'discounts' or selling them anything they couldnt get anywhere else or dependence or other suppositions the main pages currently contain)

I can think of many many things that MIGHT have been behind locked/blocked/inaccessible doors and 'other parts' of every section of Rapture/Columbia .

So YOU are now STATING that  the merest hint/turn of phrase  in an audio diary  (or other mention)  of an idea for things NOT actually seen in the game IS now the standard for including such speculatively derived information on the main pages of this wiki (and then referencing it as a  basis for conclusions) ??? 12:32, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

What I am stating is that this audio diary is evidence that there is a Sinclair Spirits in Pauper's Drop, as it would make no sense otherwise. Similarly, Sinclair's attitude and business practices are also clear evidence that he is trying to cheat the population out of their money. It is now you who are engaging in commentary. --Willbachbakal (talk) 18:55, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

Yes it made no sense then in the game as presented which may have been the reason it was intentionally discarded.

So no its not 'evidence' that it existed in the actual game, just that they had contemplated and even gone far enough to create that asset and then decided not to use it - its like all the notes a Composer scratches out of their work musical score (or even ones they tear up or burn) - they arent the final product as intended to be presented to the audience.

Sinclair is also not cheating people out of their money unless you think that 'giving people what they want' is cheating them.   He understands that people have delusions, but that only makes opportunities and its shown that he is good at beating out other people to making business from those opportunities.    He makes the better deal.

You do remember the guy he has doing piecemeal work assembling syringes What_a_Snap  which offsets Profit_Coming,_Profit_Going (usually pointed to as evidence of Sinclair being dishonest or whatever).

But if you know anything about real business you can realize those tiny viewpoint vignettes distort/leave out most of the details of such a business relation - the risks and expenses Sinclair takes, the fact that he's giving that guy a job he might not otherwise have, all the other aspects of the business transaction to Ryan that Sinclair has to work to arrange and organize.  Its the same with everything they show of Sinclair in the game (and the vagueness with so many other aspects).

But being a 'game', realities like that are mostly ignored to make out Sinclair as a cardboard cutout villain in what first and foreemost is a shoot-em-up game. 01:17, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

BTW what other 'admins' are still active?  They might have a different take on your opinion here. 01:35, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

Why do you keep on saying that it was removed? It wasn't removed (ie taken out with malice or deliberate intention [or "torn up & burned" as you alluded]), it was made available via social media (the Cult of Rapture website, which was set up by the game creators before the launch of Bio2 to spread the narrative and get people excited).
The 1) GOOD GENES RANT, Gatherer's Flu, Your Place of Work, these were actually "removed." For one reason or another, they were deliberately made unavailable and can only be found in the game's code. The diaries from the Cult of Rapture aren't considered "removed" in the deliberate sense. Ryan Amusements (Audio Diary) isn't in the game (it's from the site), but we still acknowledge that Sofia Lamb consulted with Ryan Amusements even though it's not mentioned within the game.

Why do you assume that we all "don't understand business" or hate capitalism. It's really condescending of you to "explain" it to us each time. The inflamatory verbage on The Sinclair Deluxe will be change to something more objective, but the fact that we use words like "fleece" or "cheat" to describe Sinclair's actions here on the TALK PAGES (as opposed to the main article) is not the issue. It's really a waste of your time (and credibility) to rebuke those comments here. Those are our opinions and we're entitled to them.

In the real world, there would not be a problem with Sinclair's business practices. But here's the thing: He's a Video Game Character (NOT some misunderstood histoic figure, Not your friend.). Specifically, he's supposed to be a villainous character right up until he finds redemption with Subject Delta. He's meant to represent the worst of capitalistic greed via his machiavellian or opportunistic actions. His home field trial for Plasmids, in which he supplied a terrified populace with untested, dangerous substances, contributed the most to the loss of Rapture's humanity. He's an extreme, but he's also a cautionary tale. If you can't understand that you've entierly missed the point of who Sincalir is.

"what other 'admins' are still active?" Class act.

Unownshipper (talk) 03:14, September 17, 2014 (UTC)
class act  to wonder if the rather strange standards being given are the consensus of the other people in charge of this wiki??   An 'admin'  declaring it (sinclair spirits) is there (in Paupers Drop) even though its obviously NOT there (in Paupers Drop) is a rather hard logic to follow for many people.
"which was set up by the game creators before the launch of Bio2 to spread the narrative and get people excited"      just like all the trailers for Infinite (with so many story mutations its hard to keep track of them all) ???    Or will you now claim thats just not the same??      Dont we (the wiki) usually mark specailly things that arent from the actual game ?
Why do you assume that we all "don't   - Why do you assume most people DO (and that the vaguaries are left in rather as one dimensional painting of many of the game characters).   DO most people know that that $12 pizza they buy has 25cents worth of materials in it ??   Are they suprised to hear it when they are told?      Assuming that Im assuming that you 'hate capitalism' is your assumption.  As Ive said before the makers of the game are painting many distortions because it is the setting they want to justify a Failtopia that players can go pew-pew in.
You defend the loose use of "fleece" or "cheat" to describe Sinclair's actions -   but then at the same time  you assume all of Sinclair's colorful verbage then is literal AND must be interpretted that way instead of the condescension/disdain he expresses  ie- 'slum' 'rathole' etc...  (many times of those with pretensions who he delights in seeing fallen from their high perches)
In the real world,    Isnt one of the big aspects of Bioshock (Rapture) the Nostalgia  - which is some presenting of that world from 60 years ago - a place build in rejection of where that world had already gone.   So is it not justified to expect a little real world logic to be included in a game of that type.
Sinclair 'the villain' gives people a choice, which is more than you saw Sofia Lamb, Fontaine or Sander Cohen give the people they used/murdered.  Sinclair sells people what they think they want or with a better deal than his competitors.    No, the worst of 'capitalism' is Fontaine extorting his workers into low wages and killing them if they disagreed.
contributed the most to the loss of Rapture's humanity   - You assume a mechanism to justify a Multiplayer game AFTER THE FACT  of the original 2 games content (not mention in them once of this Consumer Test Program ) is evidence?     Did he kidnap the people or brainwash them into volunteering??  (all dozen or so people --  we arent sure werent the ONLY dozen or so involved ... (again vaguaries with no detail)   I dont recall seeing any players there laying having seizures on the ground from their tonic/plasmid malfunctioning or experimental guns exploding in their faces(do you??)  So obviously not quite so 'experimental'  (this all making assumption that the whole thing isnt like I said just a flimsy RetCon to justify the developers making money on a MP addon). 06:17, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, now you're just getting into major opinionated debate, which is not what this is about. Unfortunately for you, anon, I am the only active admin on this wiki, and seeing as you're alone in disagreeing versus two other users (my authority as admin doesn't come in here), you are not in a position to express your opinion as fact. You have shown that you are clearly not objective in this discussion, and that despite your projection, it is you who are trying to put forth your opinions into the mainspace. Please take a step back and take some time to cool down a little, as you're not going to be productive in the emotional state you're in right now. --Willbachbakal (talk) 07:40, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

Nobody should then be able to express their opinion as fact....   I notice you dont talk that way to the other poster whom you happen to agree with (read their approach to argument again).  I was just answering argument point with argument point which you are free to misinterpret as 'emotional'.    Using the others words.... 'class act'.  I just see it as being able to explain my position. 10:44, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

Ban Request Edit

It's probably the first time I've ever made such demand to you or Gardimuer, but I request that the anonymous user of the I.P., also known as Testxyz when he fancies signing in, to be stripped of his editor rights on the wiki. As you probably know him from the recent conflict over the Sinclair Deluxe & Sinclair Spirits audio diary, this arrogant user has been repeatedly defying any editor opposing his ideas, has absolutely no respect for how comments on talk pages should be written and keeps cluttering them. His last actions on Talk:Southern Mall speak for themselves. Since I am not the only who encountered issues with him, I hope this demand will convince you. He seems to have an obsession with soda and the Lord if the Rings that he apparently felt compelled to share all over Booker's page, I'd almost admire his audacity if he didn't create a bunch of work for our fellow contributors to undo and images to delete. I feel that such actions enable us to forgo the usual warnings and proceed straight with a ban. Thanks.

bookers heritage Edit

I'd like to add this to the very front of bookers bio: "Booker DeWitt is the part Native American protagonist of BioShock Infinite." im part native american. also, this is true because of what ken levine said on twitter. please leave this here. I would really like to see this at the top of bookers bio. How often do you get a protaganist that has native american lineage in games? I'll admit that being part indian myself has a lot to do with this. and it's cool to get representation in the games media. It's just part of his heritage so I sdon't see why it can't be left in even above the spolier tag. It's his heritage. Can this please be left in? Can we please work something out in this regard? Those 3 words is all i really want to edit in this wikipedia. Can I please just add this? Willisjacksonhere (talk) 15:59, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

:Certainly something can be done about this? It's just three words. And yeah, it's important to me. And I don't see the problem with putting his heritage in there. Why not lean with me on this? Again, it's just three words. My ancestors used to be slaughtered. And many of them devolved down to violence and depression because of what happened. I would really really like for it to be up there. Anyone who views this wikipedia will see it when they search booker. I would really like it to be at the top. Please lean with me onjust this. Willisjacksonhere (talk) 16:52, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

The fact is you want Booker's hertitage up top for purely personal reasons (an agenda). That is not what this wiki is for. There is a LOT of stuff I could put on the wiki, but it would speculation and theories, which is also not what the wiki is for. Booker's heritige belongs in the History section as it is not something not made clear until well in the game and by doing that, it has a greater impact knowing Booker's history. That is why it is the lower section. Also add in that Booker does not seem to care about his ancestory that much, there seems no pressing reason to move it. And it would be "partial native american ancestory", not "part" native american ancestory. (Sorry, that poor grammer is enough to bother even me). sm --Solarmech (talk) 18:53, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
As stated by Solarmech, you are not contributing because of the in-game facts, you're doing so for your own personal agenda, "I'm part Native American... I would really like to see this... I'll admit that being part (American) Indian myself has a lot to do with this". That isn't what we want on this wikia. Not only does Booker not care or cherish his ancestry, he massacred them to show his military comrades that he has no part of that in his blood and that he is truely American/ white back when he fought at Wounded Knee. And this was before he became Comstock. And as SM said, partial would be that correct statement and grammer. You can be part of something but that doesn't mean you are half of it. Witcher QuestionEdit

Greetings Willbachbakal,

My name is Jorge and I am from Wikia's Community Development team. As a frequent editor and admin, I wanted to reach out a potential Witcher opportunity coming up very soon around Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In the coming months leading up to release, we may have the opportunity to work with the publishers and developers on the community, get access to early assets, and this may even include travel. The Witcher 3 is a fantasy RPG, and accompanying MOBA weirdly enough, so I thought this opportunity might be interesting to someone with a wide interest in games.

Unfortunately I have to remain vague for the time being, but I wanted to start outreach early for those people who might be interested in the project. If this is something that piques your interest, let me know via email and I'll add you to our list and we'll be in touch soon.

All the best, Jorge

Great! Can you send me an email ( Due to privacy issues I'll have to keep you in the loop that way and the email you have on file doesn't seem to be active. Jorge @Wikia(profile)•(talk) 15:47, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Curse Edit

I'll just get straight to it - BioShock Wiki should move over to Curse's Gamepedia network. BioShock Wiki being a part of Curse's wiki network would offer tenfold more freedom than Wikia allows. Plus, articles would look better and you all would have more options (skins, for one; I think just about everyone who was an editor on Wikia's network before they started shoving their 'improvements' down our throats hates the current Oasis skin).

You should really consider it. If you do, I for one would most definitely assist you and the other editors of the wiki.

PS: Just look at the difference between Wikia's Witcher Wiki and Curse's Witcher Wiki, for example. Curse's superior wiki (aesthetically, content- and community-wise) is the result of the extra freedom alotted to editors on their network.

I hope you all at least consider this. 08:51, December 21, 2014 (UTC)

How much do you want to bet the IP leads back to Curse in some way? :P  sm Solarmech (talk) 12:54, December 21, 2014 (UTC)

Hello Willbachbakal, I've noticed that you and one other are the only fully active admins on this wikia(thats what is says on the admin page) and I have noticed a pressing issue on this wikia. Most of the articles regarding the Bioshock Rapture novel are either listen as canon or semi canon. I doug deeper into this problem and discovered that 4 years ago someone had the same question I did. They ended up messaging Ken Levine on twitter aasking him if the book is canon. He responded with something along the lines of "I cant say I havnt read it yet". That was four years ago and Ken still hasnt got back to him. I understand he is a busy man but I recall reading a arcticle that Ken Levine supervised the writing of the novel. Anyways I messaged Ken a few hours ago and am waiting on his response. If his answer is yes it is canon then are you willing to rewrite some of the articles that say this isnt canon? RamonesFan16 (talk) 21:41, October 19, 2015 (UTC)
